Good value for the money...
We had just moved into a new home and have two dogs (which means if you have furniture upholstered with a cloth fabric it is likely destroyed in a year or two).

We had just moved into a new home and have two dogs (which means if you have furniture upholstered with a cloth fabric it is likely destroyed in a year or two).
So we chose to replace what we had with leather. Bought a leather couch sectional. Looks nice, but it's hard and has straight lines so no support for your lower back or neck. Dogs love it though!
But I needed something more. Nothing to my mind is more comfortable than a recliner. Thing is that any recliner I have ever found comfortable is pretty ugly. If they're pretty they have nice lines which means no support (uncomfortable).
The Charleston seems to find a happy middle ground between looks and comfort. It's solid, but not overly bulky. It's very nicely padded everywhere and so far seems to be providing support in all the right places.
What also struck me was that this chair is supposedly made of top grain leather. I can only assume this is accurate since the video mentions this as well. However at this price range you're normally finding furniture that is made of bonded leather (which really is the equivalent of wood laminate/particle board vs. hardwood).
It's got a plywood/pine construction which again feels solid and assembly took about 10 minutes. Screw on the legs, slip the back support onto metal struts on the base and you're done!
Love being able to just push on the arms to recline!
I noted a few of the reviews commenting on a strange smell to the chair when unpacking. Yes there is a smell. The smell is leather! I'd be worried if there was no smell. Now the only issue I have is that my litte french bulldog thinks this was purchased for him!
I ordered this over the weekend and received it the following Tuesday. While the shipping is offered up free it's worth it to pay the $3 for FedEx ground.
Let's just say I'm at the office and am really looking forward to getting home, cracking open a beer and lounging on my barcalounger!

I was a bit disappointed after receiving the recliner. I read the reviews and decided to buy this recliner but it seems a bit cheap in quality. The leather seems very thin & the framing doesn't seem very sturdy when moving the recliner. When I was putting one of the legs of the recliner, the paint chipped off, so be careful as you screw the legs in tightly. It was easy to put together though.

Nice chair but not all leather.... Perhaps description should state this. Not sure it is worth the hassle to box up and send back besides the boxes were pretty trashed by Fed Ex.

We are very satisfied with our purchase from Hayneedle. The Customer Service Operators were very helpful and the delivery was prompt. The chair is very comfortable and the color/quality of the leather is very nice. It is exactly as pictured on-line. The only problem we had with the chair was the 5 inch height of the legs. The chair was much too tall for the scale of the other furniture in our Family Room. My husband liked the chair so much that he decided to order 3 inch replacement legs which solved the problem. Now the chair looks great and still reclines easily. We think the manufacturer should consider using shorter legs on this chair.

We ordered two of these chairs. Both arrived as and when promised and one was perfect. The other had slight damage. We contacted the store and the return was very easy with no questions, At the same time, we ordered a replacement. It arrived before promised in perfect shape. We will use Hayneedle again and highly recommend, It good to do business with somebody who does what they say will do.

We were looking for a recliner that didn't look like a recliner but more like an elegant chair.
From the picture, it seemed this was the case -- and it proved to be true, only better. The leather is soft, height of chair good for men, and reclining an easy shift.
One thing my husband has needed is a "neck pillow" for better head stability, but I have not found that a problem.
Free shipping with arrival in two days was incredible!
