Inside the Barcalounger
Durable moving mechanisms Barcaloungers feature heavy gauge steel moving parts to ensure years of trouble-free use. All critical pivot points are enhanced with steel bushings to provide low-friction movement. These steel components are all tooled with precision to ensure easy operation. Barcaloungers are activated by their handles ... not operated by their handles. All motions, from reclining to swiveling to lounging, are smooth and trouble-free.
A frame with integrity Barcalounger frames are made from precision-cut, kiln-dried lumber, which resists warping and holds its structural shape through years of heavy use. Double-doweled joints are glued together, while L-shaped braces hold the critical joints in place to prevent the rickety wobbling you may experience with lower-quality chairs. Barcaloungers are also enhanced with heavy-duty sinuous springs, which are attached to the wooden frame with insulated clips. No squeaking, no creaking.
Comfort from the inside out Barcalounger seat cushions are filled with reinforced, high-resiliency, cold-molded urethane. They are then shaped and wrapped in polyester fiber, which prevents pulling and slipping and provides you with a soft, luxurious place to rest. Headrests and backrests of these chairs are given an extra boost with additional foam and polyester fiber fill. The outside back and arms are also padded all over, insulating the wooden frame and keeping the upholstery from wearing thin, even on the edges. With over 600 fabric and top grain leather choices available, Barcalounger offers an upholstery to suit your every need ... and each one is tested for colorfastness, seam slippage, tear strength, and abrasion resistance.
